Introduction to the Suez Canal Zone
Roll of Honour
 1951 - 1956
2nd Version dated 2004

With some details now supplied by Suez Veteran Ted Sparrow this second version of the Roll of Honour lists the names of those members of the British Armed Forces who lost their lives in the Canal Zone between 1951 and 1956 and includes Army and Royal Air Force Units that were missing from the previous version.  The names and details of Service Family and children who died have been included, also the names of the servicemen and civilian crew who lost their lives in the York aeroplane crash in Malta, February 1956, plus others who had connections with serving in the Zone.
A total of 609 names are listed.

Not included in this version are the names of those members of the Commonwealth Forces who lost their lives in the Zone during the same period:  East Africa (45), Mauritius (41), Rhodesia (1) and The Seychelles (7).
Their omission does not detract from the valuable assistance they gave to the British troops or the part they played in the Canal Zone.
