The six

Association's
Christmas Lunch
at the Royal
Hospital, Chelsea. 24th November 2009.

of SVA Member, Geoffrey Pentecost.
Right: Publicity
given to SV Bill Lowe and an old service colleague when they meet after
50 years.
The text on
the paper says, - "Suez Veteran Bill Lowe meeting his Army pal Alan
Henstall for the first time after 50 years at
a reunion for Suez Vets."
The other
two photos on the paper are of Bill in his Army days and some of the
other Veterans who attended the reunion.
Left: The SVA Memorial Plot at the Garden
of Remembrance, Westminster Abbey, was taken on the Sunday afternoon,
after the
Remembrance Parade. It looks like 55 crosses were placed, which
is a lot better than the 13 placed three years ago.

Abbey. Nov. 2009.
The Suez
Vets contingent lined up on Horse Guards and in Whitehall, ready for

SVA 2009,
final part of the march before we 'Right wheel' onto Horse Guards after
paying our respects at the Cenotaph, pic shows Bill Taylor our intrepid
Parade
Marshall leading the way about to give us his 'Suez Veterans -
eyeees right'.
On the Dais
the Salute was taken by Prince Andrew and the President of the British
Legion.
Pleased to
say Bill was back in fine fettle after recent involvement with the NHS
and as usual, much
amusement from the crowds with his Parade ground banter as
we
try to keep
in step. I like to think that comrades we have lost were alongside us,
no doubt many thoughts turned to them when the guns thundered and
during the
silence that
ensued. Good luck lads.

On 19 August, 34
members/partners of the Scotland SVA Group enjoyed a barge trip on the
Union Canal near Edinburgh.
Guests from the NE
and London Areas attended. We enjoyed a 3-course meal on board and I
recommend this event to all
SVA members.
