THE  'SUEZ  VETERANS  ASSOCIATION'

 
ABOUT THE ASSOCIATION

In February 1997 a number of Veterans who had served with the British Armed Forces in the Suez Canal Zone of Egypt had a very successful reunion visit to that region.  They arranged to have another reunion at Sutton Bonnington on the 15th of the following April and from this meeting the ‘Suez Veterans Association’ was formed with the late Terry Coulson being elected the first Chairman. Membership to the Suez Veterans Association is open to all those who served in the Suez Canal Zone with the British Armed Forces, the Nursing Services and Civilian Support Staff.  At the end of May 2009 the Association had 1860 members who are living in various countries throughout the world and they all receive four SVA Newsletters per year.  The UK is divided into SVA Regional Areas, each with a Representative and area meetings are held frequently. Some areas also have local Groups or Branches who often meet and organise events. These are always well attended where members enjoy meeting each other, having a drink, a chat and sometimes even relating tales of those times in the Zone! "Do you remember ..................?"
